چکیده

The strong short-range repulsion, characteristic to realistic interatomic potentials, complicates the description of weakly-bound few-body systems such as those \He atoms. present work proposes an approach for solving this problem and applies it a system four ${}^4\mathrm{He}$ potential is gradually softened that rigorous four-body equations bound scattering tates can be accurately solved in momentum-space framework, results are extrapolated back limit original potential. Linear correlations between three- body quantities observed, accuracy procedure improved by extrapolating one three-body quantities. Results tetramer ground excited state binding energies atom-trimer agree well with at least some earlier determinations shed light on existing disagreements. An additional case Phillips correlation line established dimer-dimer length. trimer production rate via ultracold two-dimer collisions estimated, exhibits significant finite-range effects despite weak dimer.

Differences in dimer-dimer interaction

The three-dimensional X-ray structure of a recombinant human mitochondrial manganese superoxide dismutase (MnSOD) (chain length 198 residues) was determined by the method of molecular replacement using the related structure of MnSOD from Thermus thermophilus as a search model. This tetrameric human MnSOD crystallizes in space group P2,2,2 with a dimer in the asymmetric unit (Wagner, U.G., Werbe...

Optical activity and coupling in twisted dimer meta-atoms

We analyse the optical activity in twisted dimers, the meta-atoms of a chiral metamaterial, by introducing a simple yet accurate model for the coupling between them. The near-field interaction coefficients are derived from a Lagrangian model and include the effects of retardation, whereas the far-field radiation is based on a multipole expansion. We show that the optimum twist angle varies with...

Optical scattering resonances of single and coupled dimer plasmonic nanoantennas.

The optical resonances of individual plasmonic dimer antennas are investigated using confocal darkfield spectroscopy. Experiments on an array of antennas with varying arm lengths and interparticle gap sizes show large spectral shifts of the plasmon modes due to a combination of geometrical resonances and plasmon hybridization. The resonances of the coupled-dimer antennas are considerably broade...

Dimer Problems

The dimer model is a statistical mechanical model on a graph, where configurations consist of perfect matchings of the vertices. For planar graphs, expressions for the partition function and local statistics can be obtained using determinants. The planar dimer model can be used to model a number of other statistical mechanical processes such as the planar Ising model and free fermions. It is al...

Mayer Expansion for monomer-dimer system

Statistical mechanics is a branch of physics that applies probability theory, which contains mathematical tools for dealing with large populations, to the study of the thermodynamic behavior of systems composed of a large number of particles. A deep connection between probability theory and physics has been discovered in the research of statistical mechanics. The simplest model in statistical m...
